Agnes was born December 31, 1927 to Rudolph and Anna (Stech) Plasek on the family farm in Beroun, Minnesota. She attended country school through the 8th grade and as a young woman, Agnes moved to St. Paul to work at the Swift Plant. That is where she met Frank Chihos and soon after, they were married October 16, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beroun. Shortly after, they moved back to farm in Iona Township. As Agnes and Frank started their family, she had a large vegetable garden to help feed the family and Agnes sewed clothing for her children. As the years went by and her children moved away, the vegetable garden got smaller and her flower garden got bigger and her sewing talents went from clothing to quilts. Agnes enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Christian Women and the Zion quilting crew.
Agnes is survived by her children, David (Janet) Chihos, Bowie, MD, Adrianne (Ward) Olson, Eden Prairie, Daniel (Julie) Chihos, Fargo, ND, Linda (Cletus) Miller, Albany, Cindy (Mike) Stevens, Browerville, Charlie (Lisa) Chihos, Savage, Gary (Carol) Chihos, Richmond, Steve (Sandy) Chihos, Ovieda, FL, Laurie (Brian) Nelson, Holdingford; 26 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
