Elda Zunker, 90, of Browerville, passed away on March 5, 2009 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services for Elda were held on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie with Pastor Noah Wehrspann officiating.  Interment was at Trinity Cemetery in Long Prairie.

Elda was born August 17, 1918 in Parkers Prairie to William & Emma (Ruckheim) Wilke.  On September 10, 1939, Elda married George Zunker in Parkers Prairie.  Elda was a long time employee at St. John’s Hospital in Browerville.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, mowing lawn, taking walks, dogs and especially her family.  Elda was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie and a past member of the Dorcas Circle. 

Elda is survived by her children:  George (Jo) Zunker of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Kathleen (Calvin) Pooler of Clarissa; Phyllis Zunker of Anoka; Alice (Roger) Baron of Dellwood; sister Marie Eggert of Rockford, Illinois; brother John Wilke of Alexandria, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.

Elda is preceded in death by her parents, husband George, infant son Gerald Arthur, 1 brother and 5 sisters.
