Rodger Twardowski, 61, of Browerville, passed away on June 5, 2009, at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.  Funeral services for Rodger were held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 11 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville.  Interment was at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery. 

Rodger was born April 28, 1948 in Long Prairie to George & Annabelle (Biermaier) Twardowski.  During his childhood he made many trips around the block of their farm on his blue scooter, always willing to give rides to others.  Rodger also took an interest to hunting.  He and his dog skip spent hours in the backyard shooting critters with his bb gun. 

Rodger attended country school until the 7th grade.  After moving into town he attended and graduated from Browerville High School   He spent the next few years moving around looking for a place to settle.   He attended Marshall State College for a short time but returned to Browerville and started his career of 36 years at Hart Press (Banta), retiring in March 2006.

Rodger built his home in Browerville in the early 1980’s.  On July 22, 1989, he married Susan Parteka.  Along with his wife of nearly 20 years, he shared his home with his three step-children Scott, Todd and Jodi.  “Rodge” was very proud of his family and truly cherished his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Megyn, Ashtyn, Dawson and Brogan.  These kids put many smiles on his face.  Rodger enjoyed his many bird feeders, playing on the computer and watching a good Vikings or Twins game.  His dog Molly was at his side enjoying life with him.  Rodger was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy as a child and confined to a wheelchair as an adolescent.  His disease progressed over the years and due to complications brought him to his death.

Rodger is survived by his mother Annabelle of Browerville, wife Susan of Browerville, step-children:  Scott Asmus of Browerville, Todd (Kali) Asmus of Browerville, Jodi (Chris) Beito of Roseau; grandchildren:  Mackenzie, Megyn, Ashtyn, Dawson, Brogan, siblings:  Ralph (Ellie) Twardowski of Long Prairie; Marge Peterson of Cedar; Donna (Jack) Berry of Cushing; Paulette (Bill) Connelly of Deer Creek; George (Lisa) Twardowski Jr. of Aurora, Colorado and many nieces and nephews.

Rodger is preceded in death by his dad George and sister Jean Larson.
