Adeline was born November 8, 1919 to Tom and Mary (Coudek) Prokes in Chicago, Illinois, where her family owned a hardware store.  She married James Stracek on November 4, 1939.  The following March Adeline and James moved to Todd County where they farmed in Moran and Ward townships until they retired in 1977.

Adeline and James built a retirement home on five acres of the farm and sold the rest.  After James passed away in 1984, she sold the house and moved to Browerville.  She then moved to Long Prairie to Valley View Assisted Living and then finally to Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home.  Adeline enjoyed sketching and was a very good artist. She was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church and later Christ The King Catholic Church. Adeline enjoyed her membership in the Moran Mixers Homemakers Group and the VFW Auxiliary.  She made the most delicious Bohemian pastries and made many traditional Bohemian meals.  She also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

Adeline is survived by her sons:  Gary (Rita) Stracek of Browerville and Ken (Sue) Stracek of Melrose, seven grandchildren: Sharon(Brian) Crider, Clarissa, Teresa (Dave) Hoglund, Champlin, Mary (Tom) Schmitz, Wadena, Steve (Lisa) Stracek, Esko, Robert (Nicole), Staples, Melissa (Ray) Birkholtz, Philbrook, Shanda Stracek, Minneapolis and 13 great grandchildren.
