
Bud (Laurel) C. Sharon, 91, of Randall, passed away at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls on December 15, 2011. Funeral services for Bud were held on Monday, December 19, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Browerville with Pastor Nate Loer officiating. Interment was held at Zion Cemetery, Browerville.
Bud was born and raised on a dairy farm in Parker Township near Randall to Carl & Pearl (Brastad) Sharon on December 14, 1920. He attended country school through the 8th grade. After school, Bud worked on the family farm with his parents. On June 6, 1945, Bud married Lorraine Spandl at the Zion Lutheran Church in Browerville. Shortly after their marriage they purchased the farm from his parents. Bud & Lorraine raised quality Guernsey cattle. He built his home and most of the buildings on his farm. For many years, Bud operated a sawmill and threshing machine, he also served as the fire warden and Clerk for Parker Township.
Bud enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was wood working, whittling, welding , forging or tinkering. He enjoyed the outdoors; especially hunting, fishing, picking berries and bird watching. His many hobbies included shaking dice, playing cards, scrabble, crossword puzzles, reading, singing and playing guitar, traveling and collecting agates and arrowheads. He enjoyed animals and had several pets over the years. Bud was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as an usher.
Bud was a gentle, quite, thoughtful, kind and generous man who never had a bad word to say about anybody. He was a loving husband and wonderful father. Everywhere he went, he was whistling.
Bud is survived by his wife Lorraine of Randall; Children: Diane (Roger) Nelson, June (Larry) Shutter, Becky (Brent) Wiltermuth, Lori (Vernon) Hintz, Lisa (Roger) Schuett, Russell & Len Sharon; sisters: Gladys Hokanson, Ardell (Sis) Solem and many grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ellen Johnson.
