Vera Scott, 91, of Clarissa, passed away on May 30, 2010, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.  Funeral services for Vera were held on Friday, June 4, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at the Communities of Faith, United Methodist Church in Clarissa with Pastor Gerry Vuchetich officiating.  Interment was held at Woodman Cemetery, Clarissa.

Vera was born April 4, 1919, in Balaton to John & Amanda (Mullis) Baird.  She married Morton Scott on April 1, 1937.  Vera was a farm wife in the Clarissa area for approximately 40 years.  While living in Clarissa she also worked at City Hall for a short while, then moved to the Twin Cities area where she worked in retail for several years.  For the past five years, Vera was a resident at Central Todd County Care Center.

Vera did a lot of cooking and baking as a farm wife.  She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her two daughters and granddaughter.  Vera had a collection of roosters, knick-knacks, pictures, plates, etc.  She enjoyed gong to dances with her husband at the Clarissa Ballroom.  Vera was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Vera is survived by her daughters:  Orla (Gene) Watts and Kay Scott;  5 grandchildren:  Kim Sobota, Kent (Beth) Watts, Scott Watts, Darin (Jessica) Watts and Corey Scott, great grandchildren:  Derek Sobota, Lauren Sobota, Haily Watts, Taylor Watts, Connor Watts, Logan Watts, Brianna Watts, Colter Smith and Hunter Smith.

Vera is preceded in death by her parents, husband Morton on September 24, 1983, 2 sisters:  Adona Van Norman and Lorraine Ankeny and 1 brother Donald Baird.
