Frances Ostrowski, 93, of Browerville, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009, at the Care Free Living Center in Brainerd.  Funeral services for Frances were held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, 11 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. David Maciej officiating.  Interment was at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Browerville.  Casket bearers were grandsons Jon Zaworski, Jake Zaworski, Eric Ostrowski, Justin Ostrowski, Jordan Ostrowski, Seth Ostrowski, Andrew Pass and David Pass.  Cross Bearer was Mike Buczynski.

 

Frances was born on April 5, 1915 in Aldrich to Aloysius & Elizabeth (Rachel) Hartman.    After her graduation from the Staples High School, Frances attended Normal teachers’ training.  She taught in country schools for six years.  She married Louis Ostrowski on September 6, 1939 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples.  Frances was a humble and open minded person; she was giving and had a wonderful sense of humor.  Frances was consistent in raising her children and passed along all of her wonderful traits.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Frances was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and the St. Elizabeth Seton Society.

 

Frances is survived by her children:  Louie (Carol) Ostrowski of Staples, Grace (Roger) Pass of St. Paul, Tina (Leonard) Shea of Anoka, Fred Ostrowski (Vicky Hanson) of Waverly, Marie (Jim) Noha of LaPointe, Wisconsin, Mike (Roxanne) Ostrowski of Browerville, Margie Ostrowski of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, daughter in law, Donna Ostrowski-Cooley of Wasilla, Alaska, 23 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

 

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis in 1987, son Joseph in 1985, 1 brother and 7 sisters.
