Deanna Lackmann, age 85 of Long Prairie, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Deanna Lee Lackmann was born on February 22, 1941, in Onarga, Illinois, to Frank and Betty Bromley. In the summer of 1944, she moved with her grandparents, Ernest and Harriet Gustofson, to a farm in Little Sauk Township. She graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1959. On October 18, 1959, she married Richard R. Lackmann, whom she met while she worked at Hart Press. Over the years, she also worked at Social Services for seven years, until May of 1970, when she started what would become a 30-year career with the Farmers Home Administration, which later merged and became the Farm Service Agency. She retired in May of 2000. In 1981, she and Richard purchased a restaurant and called it Dick and Dee's Diner. They owned the business until 1992.
Deanna enjoyed going south for the winter with her husband, traveling to either Arizona or Texas. She was a member of the Clotho Methodist Church. Her favorite pastimes were riding motorcycles with her husband and children. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, crafts, and sewing.
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, Deanna passed away at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 85 years old.
Survivors include her husband, Richard A. Lackmann; daughter, Lorie (Mark) Engstrom; son-in-law, Jerry Hines; grandson, Devin (Phoebe) Hines; and two great-grandchildren, Sophie and John Hines.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and daughter, Linda.
