Doris enjoyed all types of gardening, playing cards, cribbage, bingo and going to dances. She was very active in her church. Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clarissa, Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids and the first president of the Hoe & Hope Garden Club. Grandma has been a great example for us to follow. She was always pleasant, never complained and always had something good to say about everyone. She was always there to give us advice, but only if it was asked for. Grandma loved her family and her God; she leaves behind many great memories.
Doris is survived by her children: Russell (Jan) Noland of Browerville, Muriel (Wesley) Smith of Alexandria, Jeanette (Karl) Lindquist of East Grand Forks, Tammy Milbrant of St. Peter, Jay (Barb) Noland of Browerville, Bill (MaryAnn) Miller of Cedar, Verna Christopher of Browerville, brother Dale (Lois) Miller of Leonard, 21 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband Verlon on December 16, 1996, granddaughter Toni Louise, 1 sister and 6 brothers.
