Joann Miller, 75, of Clarissa, passed away on May 18, 2010, at the Tri County Hospital.  Funeral services for Joann were held on Friday, May 21, 2010, 12:00 p.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clarissa with Father Ralph Zimmerman officiating.  Interment was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Clarissa.

Joann was born on March 24, 1935 in Foley, to Alvina (Ruhoff) and Arthur Otto.  She was raised in Bertha, and graduated from Staples High School. Joann married Leonard Reed in October of 1953. They farmed at Clarissa, moved to Browerville and back to Clarissa in 1979. Leonard passed away on October 26,1986 at Clarissa. On July 10, 1992 Joanne married John Miller from Clarissa and continued farming there, spending their winter months in Mission, Texas.

Joann is survived by her husband John of Clarissa, five sons, one daughter 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren: John (Debbie) Major & Feather Reed from St. Cloud, Lawrence (Clarice) Cassandra, Mariah & Kristrina Reed from Maple Grove, Duane Reed, Alicia (Toby Paige) from Perham, Randy (Jane) Jordan, Landon & Brandon Reed from Long Prairie, Marvin Reed from Clarissa, and Leann (Dan) Corey & Caleb Hermann. She left three sisters and two brothers to cherish her memories: Lois Veien, Henrietta (Robert) VandenBurg, Grace (Denny) Rau, Jim Otto, and Bill Otto. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother Edwin Otto.
