
Bill Maschler, 95 of Browerville died at his home on Sunday, July 11, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bill On Wednesday, July 14, 2010 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. The visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service on the day of the funeral.
Bill was born March 28, 1915 on the family farm to Frank & Francis (Lusoski) Maschler. Bill attended country school through the 8th grade. He worked on the farm with his dad until he was drafted by the U.S. Army on August 2nd, 1941. Bill earned five battle stars and drove the "Red Ball Express". He was discharged on October 12, 1945; he came home, married Joan Kostuck and they lived on the home place in Little elk Township. Bill worked on the farm and also worked as a carpenter. He worked at Crestliner Boats for ten years and retired in 1977. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, playing the banjo and harmonica, gardening, helping Joan do the canning and spending time with his family. Bill once said "He and Joan enjoyed their best twenty-five years after he retired." He was a wonderful husband to Joan and a good father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Bill is survived by his children; Joanne (Danny) Fischer of Randall, Jean (Bruce) McLaughlin of Belleville, IL, Joe Maschler of Pillager, Susie (Randy) Seelen of Randall, Kathy (David) Parteka of Browerville, Bill (Shelly Swanson) Maschler of Browerville; 10 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife Joan, parents Frank & Francis, brother Ed & 4 sisters; Anne, Betty, Karthrine & Lana.
