Father Eugene Kevin Lemm was called to his heavenly home on March 17, 2010.  Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, March 22, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Reverend Bishop John F. Kinney officiating.  Interment was at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, Browerville.

Father Lemm was born December 20, 1930 to Urban and Cora (Kuvaas) in Browerville.  Father attended St. Peter's Elementary School and Browerville High School .  He received his seminary training at St. John’s Seminary, Collegeville, MN.  Father Lemm was ordained on June 1, 1957, at St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Cloud, MN by The Most Reverend Peter W. Bartholome. He celebrated his First Mass on June 2, 1957, at St. Peter’s Church, Browerville, MN.

 

Father Lemm served in the following assignments: assistant pastor St. John, Foley, August 1957-August 1960; Instructor Cathedral High School, St. Cloud, August 1960-June 1964; Pastor: St. Isidore, Moran, June 1964-February 1969; Our Mother of Sorrows, Aldrich, June 1964-October 1970; St. Frederick, Verndale, February 1969-July 1982; assistant pastor St. Ann, Wadena, September 1970-September 1976; pastor St. Edward, Henning, September 1976-September 1977; Our Lady of Seven Dolors, Millerville, July 1982-July 2008; administrator Sacred Heart, Urbank, July 1982-July 1993; pastor St. Ann, Brandon, July 1993-July 2008.  Father Lemm celebrated his 50th Jubilee as a priest June 3, 2007.  He retired July 1, 2008. 

 

His faith, love for the church and devotion to his vocation were evident in all he did.  When he was on vacation he was always anxious to return to his parish so he could say mass.  He enjoyed visiting, going fishing, playing cards at the senior center, tending to flowers, going for long bike rides and watching community baseball games.  He never aspired for greatness, but rather  served others humbly and with great generosity and kindness.  He was known for his warm smile, high energy and ready willingness to help.  He was a wonderful and kind brother, uncle and friend who will be forever in our hearts.

 

Father Lemm was preceded in death by his parents, brothers:  Allan & Lyle and sister Eileen.  He is survived by his brother Donald (Lila) Lemm, sister Carolyn (Marvin) Swedal, Sister -in-Law, Jeanette Lemm  and many nieces and nephews.
