Lorraine Laughlin, 91, of Browerville, passed away on July 12, 2010 at the Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral services for Lorraine were held on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at St. John Vianney Church in Long Prairie with Father Albert Kallio officiating. Interment was held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Lorraine was born April 16, 1919 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, to Harry & Marie (Gahan) Simonton. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Mankato College for one year. On June 15, 1942, Lorraine married Robert Laughlin in Mankato. Lorraine was a wonderful cook, especially baking bread, she enjoyed sitting in the summer sun, swimming and was a brilliant seamstress. Lorraine was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Long Prairie, VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.
Lorraine is survived by her children: Patrick (Nancy) Laughlin of Henderson, Nevada; Mary Jane McConnell of New Prague, Thomas (Sigrid) Laughlin of St. Paul, Elizabeth Calkins of Irving, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sons: Gregory Paul Laughlin and Stephan Robert Laughlin, granddaughter Denise Severson, grandson Connor Laughlin, sister Marjorie Simonton, son-in-law Peter Calkins and daughter in law Glady Laughlin..
