James Allen Hinzmann, 71, of Clarissa, passed away on October 12, 2009 at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.  Funeral services for Jim were held on Saturday, October 17, 2009, 10:30 a.m., at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa with Pastor Melissa Ehrhardt officiating.  Interment was held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clarissa.

Jim was born February 17, 1938 in Bertha, to Arnold & Lila (Hess) Hinzmann.  He graduated from Eagle Bend High School in 1956.  On October 11, 1959 he married Drusilla Heldt.  Jim worked in the plumbing and heating business his entire life.  He enjoyed his work and made many friends over the years.  Jim retired in 2004.  Jim played (and managed) amateur baseball in Clarissa and Eagle Bend for many years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Twins and Vikings and especially spending time with his grandchildren.  Jim is a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa and a retired member of the Clarissa Fire Department.

Jim is survived by his wife Drusilla of Clarissa, sons:  Terry (Sheryl) Hinzmann of Atlantic, Iowa, Michael (Karen) Hinzmann of St. Michael, grandchildren:  Nicholas and Alisha Hinzmann of Atlantic and Amaya Hinzmann of St. Michael; siblings:  David (Judy) Hinzmann of Eagle Bend, Gerald (Glenis) Hinzmann of Clarissa, Dennis (Pat) Hinzmann of Clarissa, Harlan (Shirley) Hinzmann of Blooming Prairie, Keith (Colleen) Hinzmann of Clarissa, Kathy (Randy) Alexander of Clarissa and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
