
Duane was born August 14, 1935, in Moran Township, Todd County, to Joseph & Lillie (Plakuk) Dukowitz. On April 4, 1964, he married Mary Ann Smith at St. Isidore's Catholic Church. Duane served in the United States Army, Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged.
Duane worked on the Railroad for nine years, Twin City Arsenal, Thelen Roofing and farmed for 40 years. He enjoyed playing jokes, telling stories and having company. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Duane is survived by his wife Mary Ann Dukowitz of Staples, children: Terri (Raymond) Kobliska of Staples, Dan (Diane) Dukowitz of Staples, Kristi (Richard) Serich of Aldrich, Kari (Donald) Brusewitz of Staples, sister Harriet Pnazek of Chicago, IL, sister in law Lillian Dukowitz of Chicago, IL, grandchildren: Michael Serich, Ray Kobliska Jr., Kristina Reese, Jennifer Dukowitz, Ryan Kobliska, Travis Weite, Zack Brusewitz, Brandon Brusewitz, Alex Erpelding, Kyle Serich and Shelby Brusewitz; great grandchildren: Taylor Serich, Brogan Kobliska, Riley Reese, Logan Serich, and Breckan Kobliska.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Lillie, sister Lucille and husband Raymond Marivigilia, brother Joseph and wife Viola Dukowitz, sister Betty Jean and husband Jim Kane, brother Leonard Dukowitz, and brother in law John Tweedie.
