Marlin Crider, 74, of Clarissa, passed away on March 1, 2010, at the Lakewood Health System in Staples with his wife Joanne and granddaughters Emily and Lacy by his side.  Funeral services for Marlin were held on Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., March 3, 2010, at the Church of the Nazarene in Hewitt.  Burial was held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Eagle Bend.

 

Marlin was born December 7, 1935, in Germania Township, Todd County, to Vernon & Melvina (Chapman) Crider.  On April 14, 1956, he married Joanne Bean in Eagle Bend.

 

Marlin farmed until 1983, worked for the City of Clarissa and drove school bus for many years.  He enjoyed visiting and drinking coffee with his friends.  Marlin enjoyed horses and had been a member of the Prairie Duster Saddle Club.

 

Marlin is survived by his wife Joanne of Clarissa, children:  Gayle Miller of Brooklyn Park, Brian (Sherry) Crider of Clarissa, Steven (Monica) Crider Sr. of Fairhope, Alabama; brothers:  Lavern (Genny) Crider of Wadena, Lyle (Roberta) Crider of Shakopee, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

 

Marlin is preceded in death by his parents, son Curtis and granddaughter Amanda.
