Robert Pogreba, 77, of Cushing, passed away on November 24, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services for Bob were held on Wednesday, November 28, 11 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. David Maciej officiating.  Interment will be held at Christ the King Cemetery in Browerville.

 

Bob was born on October 7, 1930 in Fawn Lake Township, Todd County, to Frank & Alma (Biermaier) Pogreba.  He was raised on the family farm and at the age of 13 he and his family moved into Browerville.  Bob attended school at Browerville High School and graduated in 1948.  After graduation Bob worked as a carpenter and then joined the US Navy from 1951 until 1955.  Upon returning home he continued his carpentry work for a short time and then took a job at the milk plant in Browerville from 1959 until 1968 when he started working at Hart’s Press until his retirement in 1981.  Bob loved hunting, fishing, restoring old cars and tractors and woodworking. 

 

Bob is survived by his wife Lorraine of Cushing, children:  Janet (Barry) Bowen of Ramsey, Lisa Kessler of Anoka, Colette (Rick) Anderson of Staples, Jim (Marilyn) Pogreba of Browerville, David (Karen) Pogreba of Cushing, Mike (Dawny) Pogreba of Nashville, Tennessee, Lynnae Pogreba of Clarissa, Tami Pogreba of Cushing, siblings:  Dorothy (Myles) Ruble of Austin, Delores (Joe) Luke of Browerville, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

 

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, sisters:  Florence Drajna, Margaret Deering, Kathryn Reiner and 1 granddaughter Stephanie Bowen.
