Richard Irsfeld 95, of Browerville died on January 6, 2009 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Richard on Monday, January 12, 2009, 12:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with David Maciej officiating.  Interment was in the parish cemetery. 

Richard was born in Browerville on February 23, 1913 to Lambert & Johannah (Woell) Irsfeld.  He attended school in Browerville, graduating in 1933.  Richard married Hattie Kotula on June 6, 1938 and then took over the family farm in Hartford Township.  Richard farmed the Irsfeld homestead for 37 years and was very active in the Hartford Township community.  He served as clerk of Hartford Township for 47 years, Fire Warden for 26 years, chairman of the Browerville Creamery Board for 27 years; North Star Dairy Board; secretary for the Todd County Dairy Board; Advisor to Dairy Foods, Inc. and Production Credit Assn.  Richard was also a member of the Browerville Sportsman Club; Browerville Rod & Gun Club; Northern Arabian Horse Assn. and Christ the King Catholic Church.  Richard had a passion for reading, raising and showing Arabian horses, hunting and trapping.

Richard is survived by his, daughters; Connie (Tom) Connor, Nancy Gonis, Paulette (Rowland) Angvall, grandchildren:  Paul Connor, Bill (Carolyn) Connor, Mark Gonis, Anna (Mathias) Angvall-Skeppstedt, Nicholas Angvall, Elsa Angvall and many nieces & nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, wife Hattie, sisters:  Eileen Doeltz and Lucille Johnson; brothers:  Paul Irsfeld and Hubert Irsfeld and son in law Perry Gonis.
