Shirley Rasmussen, 79, of Browerville, passed away on January 26, 2010, at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services for Shirley were held on Friday, January 29, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at the Zion Lutheran Church in Browerville with Pastor Nate Loer officiating.  Interment was at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls.

Shirley was born June 9, 1930, in Benton County, Minnesota to Willard and Mabel (Crane) Scherbing.  On August 23, 1956, she married Norman Rasmussen.  They moved to Browerville in 1961.  Shirley was a 4-H Leader for several years.  She served as a board member for the Todd County Group Home for 18 years and was the Zion Lutheran Church Treasurer for 30 years.  She enjoyed playing yahtzee, dominoes, reading, telling jokes, and spending time with her family.  Shirley was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Browerville.

Shirley is survived by her husband Norman of Browerville, children:  Rhonda (Peter) Boelter of Brainerd, Renae (Bill) Buhl of Browerville, brother Duane Scherbing of St. Cloud, grandchildren:  Charity (Chris) Littler, Kaja Brix, Brittney (Karl) Koval, Laisha Buhl, Kaitlin Buhl, Miranda Buhl, and great grandchildren, Gavin and Kaiden.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; brothers:  Gordon, Loren and Dwight Scherbing, daughter Debra Host and infant son Mark.
