Lucille Mary Nelson,88, of Long Prairie, passed away on March 21, 2010, at Long Prairie. Funeral services for Lucille will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie with Fr. Rich Walz officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Long Prairie.
Lucille was born July 15, 1921 in Browerville to Frank & Edith (Loegering) Borgert. She attended school in rural Todd County. At the age of 14 Lucille began working doing housework and later on she became employed at Harts Press, Pfefferle's Stars and Herbergers in Osakis.
Lucille married Axel Nelson on May 25, 1944, they were married for 53 years. Lucille and Axel farmed ten years by lake Osakis and then went to St. Paul. Lucille worked as a inspector for electrical and medical small components nearly 20 years. They retired on Mound Lake at Grey Eagle and then to Long Prairie and lived at the Manner.
Lucille is survived by her son, Thomas Nelson of Belton, Texas; 5 step children: Donna (Burt) Green of St. Paul, Kenneth Nelson of Danville, Kentucky, Darlene (Delmar) Green of Eagle Bend, Roger (Marlyne) Nelson of Northridge, California, Judy Hubbard of Browerville, Robert Weber of White Bear that lived with our family for several years, siblings: Dorothy Lamusga of Browerville, Louise Borgert of Mounds View, 7 grandchildren, 16 step grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Axel on January 11, 1997, daughter, Arlene on December 2, 2007, infant son Lonny in 1950, , siblings: Herbert Eva, Mary and 3 step grandchildren.
