Lucille Irene Fearing, 87, of Clarissa, passed away on December 22, 2006.  Funeral services for Lucille were held on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, 12 noon, at the Clarissa United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Taylor officiating.  Interment was at Woodman Cemetery in Clarissa.

 

Lucille was born and raised on the family farm on August 31, 1919 in Eagle Valley Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Fred and Hulda (Sandblom) Kopp.   She attended School District #125 through 8th grade and graduated from Clarissa High School as valedictorian.  After graduation Lucille moved to St. Paul and worked at a boarding house as a domestic.  Lucille returned to Clarissa and along with a friend bought the Top Notch Café in Clarissa and operated it for 4 years.  On September 22, 1944, Lucille married Donald Fearing in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  They resided in Clarissa until 1953 when they moved to Oregon where Lucille worked in a cannery until her retirement.  After Don’s death on July 26, 1985, Lucille moved back to Clarissa.  Lucille loved traveling, playing cards, going to the casino and was active in the Royal Neighbors as well as the Clarissa United Methodist Church. 

 

Lucille is survived by her siblings, Russell (Joyce) Kopp of Browerville, Jane Cuchna of Inver Grove Heights, Floyd (Elizabeth) Kopp of Clarissa and Ethel (Bob) Lundstrom of Browerville.
