Lorraine Winkler, 84, of Browerville, passed away on May 5, 2008 at her residence.  Funeral services for Lorraine were held on Friday, May 9, 2008, 12 noon, Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. David Maciej officiating.  Interment was held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Browerville.  Casket Bearers were Kenny Winkler, Kevin Winkler, Adam Thelen, Tony Winkler, David Winkler and Jacob McCarty.  Cross Bearer was Christina Kohn.

 

Lorraine was born on February 14, 1924 in Iona Township, Todd County, Minnesota, to Peter & Annie (Stach) Jarosh.  On November 11, 1941 she married Leonard Winkler at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Browerville.  Lorraine enjoyed taking care of her house plants, needlework, crocheting, search-a-word puzzles and loving on her cats.  She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Christian Women and TOPS.

 

Lorraine is survived by her children:  Eleanor Leonard of St. Paul, Bob (Carol) Winkler of Clarissa, Romaine (Jane) Winkler of Browerville, Joe (Cheyrl) Winkler of Long Prairie, Gary (Cindy) Winkler of Browerville, Pat (String) Petrie of Long Prairie, Debbie (Paul) Thelen of Kasota, Linda Winkler of Minneapolis, 2 sisters:  Mary Hadash of Browerville, Bernice Burns of LaPorte, Indiana, 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

 

Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, parents, brothers:  Joe, Peter, and 2 infant sisters.
