Linda Claflin, 40 of Staples, Minnesota, passed away on June 28, 2007, at the Lakewood Hospital in Staples, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.   Funeral services for Linda were held on Monday, July 2, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples with Rev. Stephen Sveom and JillMichelle Cosart officiating.  Interment was held at Menahga City Cemetery.  Casket bearers were Thomas Rhodes, Greg Eiler, Jerry Pettit, Joyce Anderson, Nancy Johnson, Joann Schornack and Barb Hasselberg.  Honorary casket bearers were Kayla and Kristen Rhodes and Kimberly Claflin.

 

Linda was born on October 13, 1966 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Gilbert & Mary (Kari) Claflin.  In 1975, she moved to Sebeka where she graduated from Sebeka High School in 1985.  After attending Wadena Area Technical Institute, Linda held various manufacturing jobs in the area.

 

In her spare time Linda enjoyed walking, biking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.  She had a great love for her three nieces and was very proud of their accomplishments.  Linda was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and Relay for Life. 

 

Linda is survived by her mother, Mary Claflin of Sebeka, sister Lorre (Thomas) Rhodes of Salem, Oregon; brother, Larry (Cathy) Claflin of Sebeka; nieces Kayla & Kristen Rhodes and Kimberly Claflin and stepmother, Violet Claflin of Menahga.

 

Linda is preceded in death by her father Gilbert and her grandparents.
