Josephine May, 95, of Browerville, passed away on November 26, 2006 at the Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home.  Funeral services for Josephine were held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, 10 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. John Caskey and Fr. Kenneth Thielman officiating.  Interment was held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Browerville.  Casket Bearers were David May, Michael May, Jeff Hamann, Marvin Drayna, Randy Drayna and Gary Drayna.  Cross Bearer was Tom May.

 

Josephine was born on December 9, 1910 in Dorset, Minnesota to Michael & Josephine (Huber) Mikel.  She married Sam May on June 30, 1930 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Browerville.  Josephine’s first priority was her family and her church.  She loved gardening, especially her flowers, sewing, tatting, crocheting, reading, playing cards, knitting, embroidery and cooking and baking for her family.  Josephine is a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.

 

Josephine is survived by her sons:  Rudy (Karen) May of Browerville, Ervin (Mary) May of Long Prairie, daughters:  Mary Jane Drayna of Browerville, Bernadine St. Pierre of Staples and Josephine (Arnold) Hamann of Wadena, 18 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren. 

 

Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, 9 siblings and 2 sons in law.
