Jelene Perish, 73, of Browerville, passed away on March 4, 2006 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, 12 noon, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. George Zeck and Fr. John Caskey officiating. Interment was in Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Browerville. Casket Bearers were Robert Perish, Gary Perish, Alan Bruder, Lee Koneztko, Richard Shatka and Don Asmus.
Jelene was born on April 28, 1932 in Hartford Township, Todd County, Minnesota, to Theodore & Josephine (Smolka) Zech. She was united in marriage to William Perish on December 30, 1967 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Browerville.
Jelene loved spending time with her family and friends. She put her heart into teaching for 26 years. Jelene started out teaching in the country school and then taught 3rd grade at the Catholic School. She was a very good role model and did her best to lead her students down the right path. In addition to teaching her and her husband Bill operated a hog farm for 25 years. In her spare time, Jelene liked to crochet; she made many beautiful things in her lifetime. She also loved flowers, especially roses and impatients. Jelene also kept a very beautiful garden, which she made many wonderful meals from. Jelene was a wonderful cook and baker. She will be greatly missed.
Jelene is survived by her husband Bill of Browerville and son Theodore (Candace) Perish of Browerville. She is preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Josephine.
