Frances Motl, 98, of Browerville, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.  Funeral services for Frances were held on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, 12 noon, with Fr. John Caskey officiating.  Interment was held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Browerville.  Casket Bearers were Jerome LePrince, Jason Sowers, Rick Brichacek, Aaron Motl, Bryan Motl and Shawn Motl.   Cross Bearer was John Hirschey. 

 

Frances was born on July 1, 1908 in Moran Township, Todd County, to James and Barbara (Koveton) Lenk.  She married Ernest Motl on June 10, 1930 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples.  After their marriage Frances and Ernest joined St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Browerville and farmed in Moran Township.  She joined the Christian Mothers in December, 1945.  Frances was a 4-H Leader, served on District 132 School Board, Homemakers, and Senior Citizen’s RSVP of Browerville.  After Ernest’s death, Frances moved into Hillside Apartments in 1985.  Frances loved to garden, plant flowers, make quilts and rugs, and cook and bake. 

 

Frances is survived by her sons:  Robert (Rosie) Motl of Browerville, Richard (Kathy) Motl of Browerville, 3 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Frances was the last sibling of her family of 10. 

 

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest on March 12, 1984, five brothers and 4 sisters.
