Eleanor Dvorak, 88 of Staples died on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  Funeral services for Eleanor will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 1:00 PM at the Church of Christ in Staples with Pastor Barry Klein officiating.  Honorary Urn Bearers are her grandchildren:  Brenda, Greg, Burton, Brent, Todd, Tina

 

 

Eleanor was born on June 23, 1919 to Louis & Esther (Thurner) Motl on the family farm in Moran Township. She attended country school through the 8th grade and as a young woman she worked as a housekeeper throughout the rural area.  Eleanor married Edward Dvorak on December 30, 1936 in Long Prairie, MN.  She worked as a nurse’s assistant for over 20 years at the Mary Rondorf Home in Staples and later in her life Eleanor went back to school to receive her GED.  Eleanor enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, quilting, playing cards, fishing, watching birds and being active within her church family.  She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Eleanor was a member of Church of Christ in Staples, Women’s Relief Corp, Royal Neighbors and the Quilters Group.

 

Eleanor is survived by 3 daughters, Betty (Roland) Enkhaus of Fridley, Janice (Rob) Benson of Floodwood, Bonita (Lynn) Hammond of Staples, 6 grandchildren, Greg (Val) Enkhaus, Brenda (Wally) Pilat, Burton (Judy) Benson, Brent (Lisa) Benson, Todd (Janell) Hammond, Tina (Tom) Edin, 12 great grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law, Francis Motl and Betty Motl.

 

She in preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Harold and Donovan.
