Bridgie Wieshalla, 79 of rural Cushing died on Thursday, November 23 at the Greater Staples Hospital.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bridgie at 12 noon on Monday, November 27 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. John Caskey officiating, burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery. 

 

Bridgie was born in Cando, N.D. to Albert & Arcelia (Kreklow) Christiansen.  They lived there until Bridgie was 15 and the family moved to Wisconsin.  They lived in Wisconsin for a short time and then moved to Brainerd, where Bridgie began working at a butcher’s shop.  On February 1, 1947 Bridgie married Vern Wieshalla at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Browerville.  They started farming after their marriage and soon after Bridgie did all the farming when Vern went to work at Land O Lakes.  After several years of farming Bridgie and Vern sold the cows and Bridgie went to work raising their children.  Bridgie enjoyed fishing, crocheting and cooking and she loved her children and grandchildren.  She was member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

 

Bridgie is survived by her children, Jim (Deb) Wieshalla of Cushing, Jean (Dennis) Anderson of Cushing and Rita (Bill) Peterson of Morris; 2 sisters, Helen Probst of Brainerd and Nancy Hill of Maryville, WA; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grand child.

 

 She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Vern and son Larry.
