Dolores was born on November 30, 1912 to George & Catherine (Claseman) Host in Hartford Township, Todd County, Minnesota.  She married Sam Roman on April 10, 1934.  They lived in the Browerville area all of their married lives.  Dolores worked with Sam on the farm and when the children were all in school she went back to teaching (her passion) in various Country Schools throughout Todd County.  She finished her teaching career, retiring from St. Mary Mt. Carmel School in Long Prairie.  In her retirement years she did much needle work, gardening and also taught religion classes.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sam in 1995, daughter Noreen Sandy in 1993, and Brothers Gene, Romaine, George and Joe Host and Sister Cele Ostrowski. 

 

Survivors include her son  Ronald (Gerri) Roman, Jeanice (Clarence) Adelman, Kathy (Hal) Gresser, Mary Jo (George) Santer, Ruth Ann (James) Ensign, son-in-law George Sandy Jr. Sisters Alma Lucas, Bernice Nalezny, Ann Brown, Catherine Peterson, Claretta Lamusga, Brother Paul Host, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews
