Caroline Dvorak, 92 of rural Browerville died on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples.  Funeral services for Caroline will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11 at Church of Christ in Staples with visitation on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at Moran Riverside Cemetery in Moran Township. 

 

Caroline was born September 27, 1916 on the family farm in Fawn Lake Township to immigrant parents, Mathias & Ida (Iverson) Hanson.  While she was growing up Norwegian was the only language spoken in their home.  It wasn’t until Caroline’s older siblings went to school that English was learned and spoken at home. 

 

At the age of 17 Caroline married James Dvorak on November 17, 1933 in Long Prairie and after their marriage Caroline & James rented a farm in Fawn Lake Township.  They later purchased a nearby farm where they raised their children.  Caroline was a good wife and mother, she enjoyed being in the kitchen and was an excellent cook.  She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Caroline was always happiest whenever a baby was born into the family.

 

Caroline enjoyed flowers and gardening, being with family & her close friends whom she cherished.

 

Caroline is survived by her son Neil of rural Browerville, daughter Judy Dvorak-Germann of Apple Valley, 2 grandsons, Todd (Terry) Germann, Christopher (Lisa) Germann and 2 great grandchildren. 

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James, siblings Magnus, Engwald, Agnes, Julia, Anne and 2 siblings that died in infancy.
