Deb Callahan, 53 of Browerville died on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Lakewood Hospital in Staples.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Deb at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville on Saturday, Nov. 21, 11:00 a.m. Burial was at Christ the King Cemetery.

 

Deb was born Sept. 15, 1956 at St. John’s Hospital in Browerville and raised on the family farm in Iona Township.  She graduated from Browerville High School and attended one year of college at St. Cloud State University.  In 1977, Deb moved to Kentucky and worked in a hospital for two and half years.  She moved back to Minnesota and lived with her sister, Sue in the Twin Cities.  Deb married Pat Callahan on Feb 10, 1979 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Browerville; they moved back to Browerville in November 1979 and Deb began her career as a day care provider.  After 20 years as a day care mom, Deb changed occupations and went to work at Banta Publications from 1998-2005.  In 2008 she began driving bus for Aksamit Transportation and did so until her death.  Deb loved to spend time with her granddaughters.  She enjoyed snowmobiling, deer hunting and ice fishing.  Deb also liked to spend time in her kitchen & was always baking something and tending to her plants.

 

Deb is survived by husband Pat of Browerville, daughter Jessie of Wadena, sons Sean & Joe both of Browerville, 2 granddaughters Kaitlin and Dakota, sister, Sue (Wayne) brothers, Julian (Carolyn) & Michael and many nieces & nephews.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Florian & Florence, her brother Dallas, sister-in-law Pat Hynnek and father-in-law Ambrose Callahan.
