Adeline Steger, 67, of Staples, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on February 16, 2006.  Funeral services for Adeline will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, 11 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bertha with Fr. Peter Kirchner and Fr. Albert Holmes officiating.  The visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2006, from 4-8 p.m., at the Iten Funeral Home in Clarissa and 1 hour prior to the service at church.  Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bertha. 

Adeline Delores Steger was born on March 19, 1938 at her childhood home in Eagle Valley Township, Todd County, Minnesota.  She was the daughter of Herman and Helen (Buchta) Schroeder.  Adeline was baptized in March 1938 and confirmed in June 1949 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa, Minnesota.  She attended school at District #125 Todd County Country School and 4 years at Clarissa Public School where she graduated.

On February 28, 1957 Adeline married Robert Stienka to which two children were born:  Cynthia Marie and Randolph Reid. On October 19, 1968 Adeline married Mike Steger to which one child was born:  Pamela Jean.  Adeline and Mike were married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Browerville.  Father Leonard Gaida officiated. 

Adeline is survived by her companion Virgil Collison of Staples, children:  Cindy Zuehlke of Bertha, and Pam (John) Magnuson of Fergus Falls; granddaughter, Alicia Zuehlke of Bertha, sisters:  Reta Erickson and Doris (Jack) Biermaier of Cushing, brother:  Don (Lynette) Schroeder of Clarissa; Virgil’s children:  Jerrold Collison of Browerville, Marlene (LeRoy) Jacobson Dallas, Iowa, Susan Collison of Pillager, Curt (Cindy) Collison of Verndale, Cindy Collison of Pillager, Albert (Mary) Collison of Staples and Virgil’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Adeline is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Helen; husband Mike in 2001, son Randy Stienka in 1985.
